Q. I returned an item to the library several days ago. Why is it still showing up on my account?
I'm sure that I returned an item inside my branch library earlier this week, but it's still showing up on my account. I got an email letting me know that it had been automatically renewed, and now I'm even more confused. Should I be concerned that this item has been misplaced?
Returned items will remain on your account for up to six business days after they have been put in the book drop or returned at the library to allow for adequate quarantine time. At the end of the quarantine period, items will be checked in "backdated" to the day that they entered quarantine to accurately reflect the day they were returned.
If you find that an item you have returned is still showing up on your account after six business days, feel free to contact your branch library or call 402-444-4800. We'll be happy to follow up. In the majority of situations, though, everything is resolved once the item has completed its quarantine.
