Can I donate books to the library? Answered By: Katy Lofgren

Thank you for your question!

Yes, we accept donations at all locations but items are not guaranteed to be added to the OPL collection. Anything we can't add will go to the Friends of the Omaha Public Library for their book sales. These sales help support library programs throughout the year, so your donation is never wasted.

Some libraries have limited space and can't take large donations. If you'd like, you can take your books directly to the W. Clarke Swanson Branch where the Friends hold their book sales.

We do not accept toys, games, or puzzles as donations.  The Friends prefer not to receive magazines and encyclopedias as donations at this time.
