I saw a post on Facebook how do I know if it is true?

Answer

A lot  of information is getting shared on Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere. Not all of it is true or helpful.

One place to check these posts is PolitiFact, a fact-checking website, which rates statements being shared on social media of all kinds.

Snopes has long been a great place to check facts shared on social media, they have a Covid-19 specific collection of articles.

To learn more about misinformation and disinformation, the College of Staten Island library has put together a great research guide to help and also includes more fact-checking sites.
