how do I use the "make a list" item? how does the "freeze" work? why am I getting U.S. mail notification on holds instead of phone or e-mail--that's

Answer

There are two versions of our new catalog, the main catalog and the classic catalog.  You must use the classic catalog in order to create lists.  When you find a title you want to save for later simply click on the "Add to My Lists" button on top of the record for that title.  You will be prompted to add the title to an existing list or a new one.  To access lists that you have created login to your account, go to the "My Account" page, and click on the "My Lists" button on the top of the page.  You can login to your account and access your lists in either version of the catalog.

The "freeze" function allows you to suspend your request for an item.  While the request is frozen a copy of the book will not be held for you to checkout even if you are at the top of the waiting list for it.  Your position in a waiting list will continue to move up the list while an item is frozen but the request will not be filled.

Due to the change from our old catalog to the new one we are currently unable to send out telephone or email notifications but should be able to do so soon.  In the meantime we are sending out paper notices.
