I need help finding a book I read when I was 15 (I am now 55). It was set in the Crusades and the main characters name was either Aniset or Ansiet. It was an epic, sweeping novel set over several generations. Any suggestions as to how I can proceed?

Thanks for asking! I strongly suspect that the book you're looking for is The Cornerstone, written by the Russian-French author Zoe Oldenbourg and translated by Edward Hyams. We don't appear to have the book in the Omaha Public Library collection, but it does appear to be available on Amazon, and we can certainly try to get it for you from another library system via Inter-Library Loan. ILL is often a good option for rarer books; the service carries a postage charge, so while I hate to encourage someone to buy a book rather than borrow it, check what you'd pay in shipping for a used copy. The book also shows up in the collections of the University of Nebraska at Omaha; if you'd like to be sure it's the correct book, you could drop by the Criss library at the 60th/Dodge campus.

Thanks again for your question! This looks like a fascinating read - I'm always on the hunt for medieval historical fiction. Feel free to follow up here with additional questions or call us at 402-444-4800.
