Do you have Jane Smiley's book, The Greenlanders?

It isn't a recent book; it was mentioned in the New York Times today, so it has to exist.

Thanks for asking! It's good to see a classic getting some new attention (and a pleasant surprise to see a book based on the Icelandic sagas in general.) Unfortunately, we do not currently have it in our collection - our last copy was lost a couple of years back. Now, if the book's getting attention in national press, it may be getting a reprint, so it can't hurt to put in a Suggest a Purchase; if our vendors can procure a book, you'll usually see it turn up in the catalog within a couple weeks.

Two other possibilities for finding The Greenlanders: One, it does show in the collection of the Ralston Baright Public Library - our libraries aren't directly connected, but they serve all Douglas County residents, just as we do, so you could visit them, set up an account and check out the book at no cost. You could also pick up the book through inter-library loan, where we call out to libraries around the country, see if anyone can provide the book on a short-term loan, and you can pick it up at your local library for the cost of postage.

Thanks for your question, and sorry for the long-delayed answer!
