Q

What is the "freeze" checkbox next to a book I have requested.

I noticed next to a book title that is being held for me there is a checkbox "freeze". What is that for?

Hello!  Thanks for your question. That freeze button you noticed is the same thing as the old suspend button. When you want to Freeze the item, click the check box and then click update list. When you want to unfreeze it, just uncheck the item and select update list again. This is very handy if you won't be around to pick up your holds for an extended period of time. However, if you are number one on the holds list for an item, you are not able to freeze your hold.
