Q

Where did my other added lists go? I had 3 set up. Now I only see the primary list.

In my library account we had the ability to set up multiple lists. I can no longer find this option nor the books that were on my other 2 lists. Please assist.

I'm sorry you lost your lists!  No matter how much we've tried to publicize our move to a new catalog system in the past month, there unfortunately were people like yourself who didn't hear about it.

We'd recommended that everyone save their lists as they will not move to the new system.  I would save the one you have remaining ASAP, as the old catalog (and list) isn't being updated and soon won't be available.  See the bottom paragraph of the page linked above for more information.

With the new catalog in place it will be even easier to make lists and organize information about your account and reading preferences with an updated, modern web interface.  I think you'll like the changes.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

  1. I have had NOTTHING BUT TROUBLE trying to use this new system. It is not intuitive and seems downright HOSTILE to users of the previous system!

After discovering that the lists that I'd created on the old system hadn't been carried over to the new system (WHY DIDN'T YOU SEND AN E-MAIL NOTIFYING US OF THIS IMPENDING CHANGE????) I've been trying to recreate my lists WITHOUT SUCCESS! Is it possible to establish some simple, direct instructions that one can refer to? I've had to call in to the Main Library EACH TIME I'VE TRIED TO DO THE SIMPLEST TASK, e.g. downloading an electronic resource. I haven’t seen any “improvements” as a result of this new system, and I can’t fathom how anyone could possibly think that having to fumble through multiple screens/menus/links is a benefit to your customers.

I'm ready to cry from frustration because I can no longer easily use the website. I feel COMPLETELY BETRAYED by the OPL and I know I’m not alone. I'd really appreciate receiving an answer/solution to the concerns I've listed here.

    Thank you.

  2. BTW: The last sentence of the second paragraph, “See the bottom paragraph of the page linked above for more information.” is less than helpful. When I clicked on the referenced link I got the following message in the new window: “Page not Found. Page cannot be found. Keep trying!”

SERIOUSLY????? That message is a virtual slap in the face! Perhaps you’re still beta testing this site and it actually will be functional in a few months? You have seriously damaged your credibility as a resource to the community.
