Q

Which branches of OPL have Children's rooms or extensive Children's collections?

I have a 10 month old and a 3 year old, and I'm wondering whether any branches have specialized in young children's materials, spaces, and programs. Thank you!

Answer

Our children's books float from branch to branch (meaning if you check one out at one branch and return it at another, it stays where you returned it until someone else checks it out and returns it elsewhere), so all the branches have pretty good, varied children's collections. The bigger ones would probably be Millard, Abrahams, and the Main Library. All the branches offer children's programs. Saddlebrook attracts a very large audience to its storytimes. Which branch is closest to you?

You can see current children's programs here: http://www.omahalibrary.org/programs/kids-programs

Or it might be visually easier to look at here: http://host2.evanced.info/omaha/evanced/eventcalendar.asp?Lib=ALL and use the slider at the side to show only the children's programs (you can also filter by branch).

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any more questions.
