We have a resource that addresses this subject.  It is actually a subject guide for book clubs, with a section on Resources to Enhance Your Book Club  Under the heading "Find a Book," you will see that Novelist is mentioned, which is a database designed to help you find your next read when you are out of ideas.  If you type a favorite title, you will get a list of similar titles. You can also research by author, genre (type of literature), and more.  This book club page also provides a list of useful websites.

Another automated resource, or database, is FictionConnection, which is found on our website under the menu "Resource Center," then the submenu "Books & Literature." Both Novelist and FictionConnection have "Help" sections.

These resources are great sources of book recommendations.  One cautionary note:  Omaha Public Library will have many of these titles.  For a fee, we can obtain most other titles through Interlibrary Loan.
