How do I make a quiz for the summer reading program? When I click "make a quiz" it tells me I cannot make one.

Thanks for asking! The quiz feature has caused us some trouble this year. To comply with Federal law (COPPA), our library cannot allow children under 13 to enter free text in parts of our website - including, unfortunately, the Summer Reading Program software. That's why when you registered you wound up with the color_animal_number username, for example. Some of our software developers' largest clients don't have to abide by those rules, which is why the quiz content is so prominently featured even though we can't use it. Believe me, it's frustrating, but it's the law.

If you were interested in the creative process of making a quiz, you could ask a parent or older sibling if they'd help (or allow) you to make a quiz in their summer reading account. If you're badge hunting, I'll steer you toward some of the other possibilities available through the library this summer. Speaking of which, claim the badge code 'digital' - if it works for downloading an ebook, it better count for consulting an e-librarian!

I appreciate your question, and sorry for any confusion or frustration from this odd little mix of web design and law!
