How do I check to see about obtaiing a loaner item from another library
Thank you for asking! Complete information about inter-library loan - the process that we use to borrow items from other library systems on a short-term loan - can be found here. If you're comfortable using the WorldCat database, you can place the request and start the process right away, or feel free to pick up a paper ILL application from any of our branches. Inter-library loan will carry a postage cost to you - potentially up to $6 per request, frequently closer to $2.50 - but it's often a great way to get older, rare, or specialized materials from around the country.
If you've got a little time, though, I'd recommend starting with a Suggestion for Purchase and see if we can't get a copy or two of West Wing Season 1 back in the Omaha Public Library. I know I'll be putting a recommendation in! Our current copies may have been lost or worn out, but we do our best to respond to patron interest and reorder materials when we can. After a week or two, check back with us - if we were able to get a purchase order in for Season 1, we can add you to the request list and avoid the cost of inter-library loan.
