Q

I applied for a library card online, and received an email saying that I would get a temporary pin, is this true?

I would also like to know when my library card will come in the mail, after I visit my branch.

Answer

Yes, it is! You will receive the card in a few days--basically the time needed to process your application and get it mailed to you. If you happen to be visiting your branch before the card arrives, staff and look and see if you are in the system already--if so, you can check out items using a picture ID. Be sure to take a picture ID with current proof of address (current driver's license is enough, or if it is not current, take a piece of recent printed mail, such as a bill or bank statement with you).

Best wishes,
