Q

Do you have free parking available?

I want to visit the branch on 15th street and need to know if you have parking available for library patrons. Thank you.

Answer

Parking is free anywhere in the library lot and also at street meters after 9 pm and on Sundays, so those are excellent times to visit us! Unfortunately during the weekday there is metered parking only, or else parking in one of the local parking garages. If you don't mind a walk, there are 10-hour meters (only 25 cents per hour) on 14th and 15th streets south of Jackson St. and along the Gene Leahy mall east of 13th St. (on both Douglas and Farnam--those are often occupied, though). Or if you are a good walker, there is free street parking south of Leavenworth.

As you can see, we've made a study of it. :)  There is no staff parking for most staff members, either.

I hope this helps!

  1. The parking fees and times changed in Oct 2015. This answer needs to be updated. How long are the meters in the library parking lot?

    Thank you.

  2. Thank you for catching this outdated answer and bringing it to our attention!

The meters in the library's lower parking lot and streetside meters immediately around the library are 2hr meters and follow the City's 9AM-9PM enforcement schedule.
