Do you have any books on learning the Finnish language

Have a new family member from Finland and would like to learn a little of the language to be able to visit with his parents.

Thanks for asking! We've got just a couple of resources for learning Finnish but they're good ones. The best is the book/audiobook combo Complete Finnish. We've also got a pocket Finnish-English travel dictionary. I'd also recommend taking a look at Mango Languages, our language learning database. It's got a module that will cover basic conversational Finnish. To access that, start from our Resource Center. Under the category "Language Lessons", select the "Mango Languages" database and click 'Search.' From outside the library, you'll be prompted for your library card # and 4-digit PIN. If the content in Mango looks good, you can also register in Mango with an email address and password then use that to sync with the free Mango for Libraries app on iOS/Android/Google Play.

Give a shout if you have trouble accessing any of these resources; the books we can have brought to any library for you in a matter of a couple days.
