Answer

Thank you for your suggestion! Inter-library loan status updates would definitely be a great feature; unfortunately, it's probably not something we'll be able to see in the short term because our inter-library loan requests use a different database that isn't directly connected to our library's catalog of books and materials.

Until we're able to implement a feature that gets that information into one convenient space, there is a way to track the progress of your ILL requests in the WorldCat database. You can find a link to WorldCat about halfway down our inter-library loan information page here. In WorldCat, click on "My Account" at the top-right corner of the page and "New User Registration." Use your 14-digit library card number as your username, make a password of your choice, and fill in the contact information to register a WorldCat account. Once you've done that, you can sign in to WorldCat and check under the "Resource Sharing" tab to check the status of any inter-library loan requests.

I know that's a bit of an involved process; feel free to call our inter-library loan department at 402.444.4857 for information on your requests, as well.

Thanks again!
