Q

I just put a book on hold. Why does it say my request expires on today's date?

Answer

It is actually the same date one year from the day you placed the hold; if for any reason the hold was never filled, it would expire after a year rather than remain on your record forever. Normally the hold would be filled (or cancelled, if the last copy was lost) way before that, though. I hope this answers your question!
