Q

For some reason the website for the summer reading program is not counting all the books I have entered on my daughter's "summer reading shelf"

For some reason the website for the summer reading program is not counting all the books I have entered on my daughter's "summer reading shelf" toward her badge number. she has read 53 and I can see that they all have been typed in and that is what is showing on going toward her goal, but her badge only says 40. Is there something I need to do different to get them all to count?

Answer

Hi--I checked her account, and I understand your confusion!  The badges are awarded periodically for different things, but I don't think they necessarily reflect the total number of books read. So a badge is awarded for reading 40 books (as kind of a milestone), but not for 53. The important thing is that the program is counting the number of books read (for each 25 your daughter is automatically entered in the grand prize drawing). However, I will check with our Summer Reading Program administrator to get more information about what each badge means, and let you know!
