How am I notified when a hold is available?

A lot of this depends on the timing. If the item(s) you requested just came in today, we wouldn't have notified you yet. Overnight, our circulation system processes all the holds that came in during the previous day and then the next day the calls and emails go out.
So you might have checked your account earlier than our automated process did, as the hold does show when you look up your record online.
Unfortunately you aren't able to check or change how we notify you about holds yourself from home. However, if you reply here with your card number, or give your local branch a call, we can check your account and tell you if we contact you via phone, email, or, text. However, due to privacy and personal information concerns, you would need to change your notification preference in person.
