My grandparents immigrated to So Omaha in early 1900s. I did not know them. They were married at St Francis of Assisi on or ablout 6/18/1913. Their names were Stanley Zymula and Agatha Piska. Do you have the So Omaha newspapers from then? Is there a way to tell if their wedding was written up?

Answer

Dear Anonymous,

The South Omaha Sun starts in 1951 and ends in 1983. Your grandparents marriage in 1913 would not be covered. You may want to try the Omaha Bee online at the Library of Congress website

http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn99021999/issues/

OPL has marriage licenses on microfilm. We charge $5.00 per indexed obit. Please contact me at research@omahalibrary.org if you wish to pursue this option.

Sincerely,

Lynn Sullivan
