Q

We are moving and have several hundred books to donate to the Friends of the Library book sale. Who could I contact about this?

Do you have guidelines for donated books?

Answer

We are happy to accept donations of nearly any kind. You can bring them to any Omaha Public Library location and drop them off. If you know the number of hardbacks, paperbacks, DVDs. etc., we will be able to give you a receipt for tax purposes.

The items we don't accept are old magazines, textbooks, and encyclopedias.  Other than that as long as the books are in reasonably good condtion, we'll take them.

It may be easier since you have several hundred books to deliver them directly to the W. Clarke Swanson Branch at 9101 W. Dodge Rd., Omaha, NE 68114.  The phone number is 402.444.4852.
