Q

Why do items say "request denied" when I try to place a hold on them?

Whenever I try to place a hold on an item that is checked in at Fort Omaha library, it will not let me. I thought OPL patrons were supposed to be able to access MCC materials?

Answer

In general it is true that OPL patrons can check out MCC items.  However it could be that the particular item you are requesting is part of their reserve or reference collection.  The same thing would happen if you requested one of our own titles that we only have as reference.

There is also the possibility that there is a problem with your library card account.

If you can give me the title of the item you were interested in as well as your library card number, I can check the records and see if this is the case.  If there's another reason, then I can also get the process started to address the problem.  (Looking at the email address you gave us, you might need to give us a call!)

Thank you,
