Answer

To use eBooks on your iPad, you'll need to download one or two free apps to help you first.  These are the actual eReaders for your iPad.  The first, which reads EPUB and PDF books, is Overdrive.  The second would be Amazon's Kindle.  Both are available for free through your Apple App Store.

You can also browse our collection in Overdrive itself, using its own built in browser.   But it should work in Safari as well, once Overdrive is on your iPad.  When available, the download link will offer you a choice of Kindle or EPUB (Overdrive) books. If you choose EPUB, Overdrive should automatically open and begin to download the link you selected.   If you use Kindle, it will direct you to Amazon's site for their library copy.

I know that sounds like a lot of work, but it's actually pretty easy once you get the steps down.  And the full step-by-step instructions are available on the Overdrive website.  Also if you stop by by any of our branches with your iPad, one of our staff would be happy to help you both with the install process as well as downloading your first book.

Thank you for your question!
