Answer

Hi! We have microfilm of the Omaha World-Herald and other Omaha newspapers from the 1950s.  If you know an exact date it will be simple to access the articles.  Otherwise it is tricky to find articles as there isn't an index to these papers.

However, we have temporary trial access to an online database of the World-Herald through Newsbank and you can search the full-text of articles from the 1950s.  You would, for example, be able to pull up articles that mention a specific person by name.  You can access this trial database from anywhere through our Online Resource Center (http://www.omahalibrary.org/resource-center).  Outside the library you'll need your library card and four-digit PIN number.

We do have many other historical resources in our Nebraska History Reference Collection on the 3rd Floor of the W. Dale Clark Main Library.  Please contact us if we can clarify this information or assist you further.  Hope this helps!
