Answer

There's no special registration process.  Currently, we have two apps that do different things.  One is the MyOPL app for Android.  Just look up 'Omaha Public Library' or 'MyOPL' in Google Play.

Using this app, your mother can look through our catalog on her mobile device, request books for pick up at her branch, or see what she has already checked out to her card and even renew books.  (If she hasn't checked anything out, that may be why it says she has zero books!)  She will need to know her library card number and PIN in order to access her account information.

The other app is indeed Overdrive, again available on Google Play.  With this app you can download eBooks and read them right on your device.  The other app is only to keep track of regular physical books.

They both work very well at what they do - but don't do the same thing.  You don't need both, but both can help you use the library to its fullest.

I hope this answers your question - please let me know if you have problems using either one.
