Answer

You can renew any item you have checked out in any of these ways:

1. by going into your library account online at MyOPL.org (you will need to have your library barcode number and PIN handy), selecting the book in your "checked out" list and clicking "renew";

2. by calling any branch of Omaha Public Library and asking staff to renew your item (feel free to call the main branch at 402-444-4800; it's open every day);

3. by calling the 24-hour automated renewal line at 402-444-4100.

Renewal is instant, and normally gives you another 3 weeks from the day you renew. The only exception is if other people are waiting for the item and have placed holds on it--then it is not renewable.

If there are no holds on the item, you can renew it up to four times without bringing it in to the library.

I hope this answers your question; please let us know if not!
