Q

Hi I am trying to determine the date when astronaut Jim Irwin came to speak at the Omaha Gospel Tabernacle, possibly late 70's or early 80's. I've

ried the internet: nothing. Would you have any suggestions? Thanks

Answer

I checked our Omaha World Herald database, but it unfortunately only goes back to 1983.  Normally for a more in depth-search I would recommend you contact our research department at research@omahalibrary.org, but unless you have a more specific idea of the date(s) Irwin was in Omaha, a multi-year search of our mircofilm newspaper archives would be prohibitive.  Any research we would do would most likely involve a charge as well.  Of course you are always welcome to visit our W. Dale Clark (Main) Library and go through our microfilm records on your own.

As another option you might want to check with the Christ Community Church, formerly the Omaha Gospel Tabernacle, to see if they have a record of when Irwin was here.  Their phone number is 402.330.3360, and their email address is info@cccomaha.org.  The mailing address for their Omaha (Old Mill) campus is 404 South 108 Ave, Omaha, NE 68154.

Good luck on your search!
