I am college student at UNO who does not live on campus or in Douglas County. Am I able to get a free library card since I attend UNO?

Answer

Unlike Metro students, we unfortunately we do not have any special privileges set up for non-resident UNO students.  If you happen to live in Lincoln or Council Bluffs we do have reciprocal borrowing agreements with both of those library systems, which means if you have a card with them you can get one with us.

Other than that I'm afraid non-residents would have to pay a fee to use the Omaha Public Library.  The price is $25 for a 4 month membership (which would work if you wanted to try it for a semester), or $75 for a year.  The good news?  Those fees cover everyone in your household.

Thanks for your question!
