Q

I'm told, when I attempt to log in to my e account, that my card has expired. Can I renew it online? If not, must I do it in person?

Answer

For Douglas County residents, your card will expire every five years. Borrowers in other situations may have a shorter renewal cycle. Renewing your account is very simple. We ask that you do this in person at any Omaha Public Library location.  Please bring your library card, a piece of photo identification, such as your driver’s license or school ID, and proof of your current address.  If your ID doesn’t have your current address on it, you can also bring in a bill dated within the last thirty days along with it.  If you no longer have your library card, we can issue you a new one with a photo ID.

  1. On your main website, at http://omahalibrary.org/component/content/article/112, you indicate card renewal is only required every five years, yet here you indicated two years. Please correct.

  2. Thanks for your attention! The question you've commented on is older than the policy change that extended renewals to five years. We're probably overdue for a good scrub of this database to catch similar errors.
