The book does not appear on my Kindle Fire device. It shows checked out but did not load. What do I do now?
First, you might want to double check that you followed all the steps as outlined in our eReader help for the Kindle Fire http://guides.omahalibrary.org/content.php?pid=175578&sid=2366212 . It's very easy to miss a step or to hit "download" on the Amazon site, which is not necessary if you have access to wireless connectivity--except for publishers which are Penguin imprints (in that case, our guide contains directions for downloading through your computer). Also, as long as you checked out Kindle books, unless something very unusual is going on, all is not lost! If you made it to the Amazon site in the check-out process, you should still be able to download the books from Amazon. Go to Amazon.com, choose "Kindle" and then choose "Manage Your Kindle." Your library books should appear and at the right of the book title Amazon has a button titled "Actions." Choosing this button gives you a submenu, including "Deliver to my. . .", which enables you to download the book even if something went wrong the first time. You may have to power your Kindle Fire off and on for the book to appear after it has been delivered. Good Luck!
