I checked out an audiobook and i am finished. Do i need to "return" it or does it just automatically cancel. It is due in two days. I can't
Thanks for asking! When you borrow digital materials like ebooks and downloadable audiobooks, you don't need to do anything to return the item. At the end of its lending period it will automatically lock, remove itself from your device, and disappear from your Loans shelf. You have the option to return items early if you wish to free up space on your account, but you aren't required to and digital materials can never be "overdue" / will never accrue overdue fines.
If you have transferred your audiobook to an iPod or other MP3 player, you may find that it doesn't disappear from the device until it 'syncs' again - don't worry, that's normal, and the title will still clear off your library account as normal.
If you'd like to learn more about the (optional) process for returning materials, let us know! You can find some basic instructions on our website, too - try this guide for the steps on most desktop computers and this guide if you use the Overdrive App on a phone or mobile device (the steps are for iOS, but Android is very similar.)
