When I try to place a hold on a book, it asks me to"submit" over and over again. How can I be certain I have actually placed the item on hold?

I do know we were experiencing some technical dificulties with our catalogue a couple days ago - aside from that, I'm not sure why it's showing for you to submit the hold after you've clicked "Place a Hold" and "Confirm Hold." That is not usually the case. Regardless, to check if an item is on your hold list, you can log into your account at  Once you log in with your library barcode and 4 digit PIN, the left side of the screen "My Library Dashboard" should show the number of your current holds. Click "On Hold" to see further details. You may also call any of our 12 branches and provide your library barcode number and we can walk you through the process or place the item on hold for you if it isn't already.
