AskOPL - If you have questions, we have answers!

I am looking for 3 books from a list of books. Is there another search tool I can use to see if the OPL has any of them?

It is for a research paper in a humanities class. Methodist's library doesn't have any of the books on the list.

Thanks for asking! The most up-to-date information about our library's holdings will be through our primary library catalog, which is baked into every page of Look for the search box at the top right corner of the page. The default keyword search is fairly robust, but you can specify title or author if you wish. If a book does not show up in a catalog search, we probably do not have it in the library collection.

To be doubly sure, you can always give us a call at 402-444-4800. A librarian will be happy to check our catalog to give you a firm answer on whether or not we have the specific title available.

If you're used to using the WorldCat database, be aware that OCLC's information about our library's holdings is not always current. It's a great tool to check the collections of libraries around the area, but you may need to double-check to be sure that a library actually or still has the book in question.

Thanks for asking, and thanks for using AskOPL!
