Why can't users of your website make recommendations for ebooks? (The suggested purchase form has options for selecting books, audio books, DVDs,
Thank you for asking! We do have a channel for suggestions for purchase of digital materials; it's a separate system built into our Overdrive service platform. It's far more efficient for our collection development team to review, manage, and order ebook and e-audiobook suggestions when they're in the Overdrive system, so we leave out the ebook format options in the *other* Suggest a Purchase form.
If you're interested in seeing what Overdrive-licensed ebooks and e-audiobooks are available for recommendation, start at our ebook portal at https://omaha.overdrive.com/. Search for any title or author, or browse one of the collections - any place where you can see the search facets on the left, you can look for the option: Availability > All titles, Available now, Coming soon, Recommend to Library. Using the Recommend to Library option will expand your search results to show titles that Overdrive offers and we might be able to consider.
You can also follow this link for what should be a list of ebooks available for recommendation, if I've set up the operators correctly.
You should be able to enter five digital title suggestions per month, similar to the monthly count for suggestions on physical materials. The recommendation feature should be available in the Overdrive App as well, though it does not appear in the more streamlined Libby App.
Thanks again for asking! Please feel free to give us a call at 402-444-4800 if you need some help navigating that function of the ebook catalog.
