How do I search the World Herald archives by name

I need articles on Don Leahy from 1986 to present. Is there a way to search the Omaha World Herald by his name?

Yes, certainly! For those years we have NewBank Omaha World-Herald 1983-current--it is electronic text rather than digitized images (so you won't get photos, ads, etc.), but it is searchable. Here is a direct link. If you are outside the library, you will be prompted to enter your library card number and PIN. In case this link doesn't work--you can get to the database by clicking on the Resource Center tab, then "See All" (lefthand column), then "Newspapers, Magazines, & Journals." (Direct link to that page is here.) Once you're there, you will find Omaha World-Herald about 2/3 of the way down the page (you don't want the Omaha World Herald DIGITAL Archive, that only goes to 1983). Once you're there, put "Don Leahy" in the search "all text" box at the top of the page. Leave quotation marks around it to search this as a phrase (otherwise you'll get lots of hits were "Don" and "Leahy" both appear somewhere on the page, but not necessarily together). You might also try "Leahy, Don."

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more search tips!

Best wishes,

Martha/Main Library
