Q

Looking for book recommendations!

I read Jean Auel's Earth's Children series. Are there any other novels or series that are set in the time of early man? I like that Jean Auel's were heavily researched. Thank you for any recommendations!

Thanks for asking!

The runaway favorite for a readalike of Earth's Children has to be the work of Kathleen and W. Michael Gear. A wife-and-husband anthropologist team, they've been turning out well-researched prehistoric- and early modern Native American fiction since the 1990s. OPL no longer holds a complete run of all their series, but you can get a feel for what books we have and what comes next from Fantastic Fiction

With an assist from my colleagues, I can also suggest W. Bruce Cameron's The Dog Master, Debra Austin's Daughter of Kura, and Sue Harrison's Mother Earth, Father Sky as strong possibilities for your further reading.

Thanks again for asking, and thanks for using AskOPL!
