What sort of uncommon work do you guys do in relation to outreach?

I'm an MLIS student and I have a posting due that requires that I talk about uncommon work that librarians may do for outreach purposes.

Are we still in time for your posting?  I passed this along to our programming and outreach folks, for 'uncommon' examples, and I think that word is tripping us up here.

What do you consider uncommon?  We visit may places for a variety of reasons:  Story-times, outreach tables, serving in community groups, even helping to facilitate meetings for others.  All these allow us to interact with our community in a variety of ways, but I'm not sure anyone here views any of that as uncommon.  Can you give me a better description of the information you're looking for?  Thanks!
