My father worked at the natural gas compressor station located seven miles west of Emerson, Iowa. Between 1935 and 1947 Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America had two baseball teams, the Emerson Gassers and the Red Oak Gassers. These teams played baseball in Omaha Council Bluffs SE Nebraska and SW Iowa. I am researching dad's baseball career. These games were covered in the sports pages of the "Omaha World Hearld" newspaper. Is it possible for the library to email the digitized newspaper to my address, so that I can obtain the results of dad's baseball career? Thank You for your consideration! Answer

Dear Dennis,

I am forwarding your request to our reference assistance desk: https://omahalibrary.org/research-help/.  However, this is such a large span of time that it would be a bit of a research project to find articles without precise dates. You might want to consider a short-term subscription to GenealogyBank, which includes the digitized Omaha World Herald.

Best wishes,

Martha/Main Library
