Thanks for asking! Didn't find a good match for this Richard Barber in either the Greater Omaha Genealogical Society's obituary index or a check of our text-searchable Omaha World-Herald database. The only real hit was a World-Herald article reporting the death of a Richard Barber in an industrial accident at the Hawkeye Chemical Co. plant in Camanche, IA on 12/3/1985. That Mr. Barber resided in DeWitt, IA at the time.

If you have an Omaha Public Library membership you can access the World-Herald database from home by following this link and signing in with your library card. If you're from out of town / don't have access to a library membership but think that article might connect to your Richard Barber, you may be able to request a copy through inter-library loan or via email to research@omahalibrary.org including the following citation: Herald, World -. "Worker Killed in Explosion At Iowa Chemical Plant." Omaha World-Herald (NE), 4 Dec. 1985, BULLDOG, news.

Otherwise, aside from the Richard Barber who appears in the obituary index d. 1974 with different family listed, I'm afraid we don't have much in the way of leads to offer. Best of luck with your continued search!
