Answer

Yes, thanks for asking! We have several good options available for online learning in accounting. Everything that I describe below is available from home or your office through our website at https://omahalibrary.org/ with your Omaha Public Library card and 4-digit PIN. Look in the Resource Center for our subscription databases and the category Online Learning.

Gale Courses offers online, instructor-led classes that run for about six weeks and start on a set schedule. The next wave of Gale Courses sessions for Accounting Fundamentals, Quickbooks 2017, and Excel 2016 will all begin on July 12. New sessions begin more or less each month.

If you're comfortable with more self-paced learning, Lynda.com has a number of great video courses on account that you can start right away. Once you've signed in with your library account info, try a keyword search for 'accounting' or click on 'Library' to browse by course topics - you'll see a link to a full list of their accounting courses which will cover different methods and technology tools.

Don't hesitate to ask for help at your local library or give us a call at 402-444-4800 if you have trouble getting started!
