I am having trouble locating information on the long-term effects of the ketosis diet on the human body. Where would a good place to look be?

Answer

Thanks for asking! I have two public medical information sources and three subscription databases to suggest that might be worth a look. MedlinePlus and PubMed are resources coordinated through the NIH and the National Library of Medicine; PubMed is built more for consumer literacy and PubMed for scholarly use, but both are invaluable. Omaha Public Library subscribes to journal databases that may have good results as well - try a basic keyword search like "ketogenic diet" or ketosis diet in EBSCO Science and Technology Collection, Explora, or Masterfile, refine your search results to Full-Text and peer reviewed journals only, and then try additional keywords like "long term." MedlinePlus and PubMed are free to the public, and our subscription databases are available from outside the library with your library card number.

I would also encourage you to check the McGoogan Library of Medicine at UNMC. They have a great library focused on medical information and even have a Consumer Health Information Resource Service that curates health information free for Nebraska residents.
