Thanks for asking! A picture book with these elements certainly sounds familiar, but it's proving very resistant to searches in our typical library databases and Google searches. I'm going to run a couple of book covers that happen to feature dalmatians or spotted dogs past you with almost no information available about the contents, just to see if they look familiar.

You can help improve our odds of finding the book with any other details you remember - was it a picture book or a book with chapters? Do you remember anything about the illustrations? Were they 'cartoony' or realistic? Does anything else stick in your mind about what the boy, dog, and girl do in the story?
