Q

Do you have copies of the Omaha World Herald, circa 1969?

I live in Milwaukee, WI, and it would be unfeasible for my coming to Omaha myself. If you do have copies, would it be possible to to get help finding something from the want ad section?

Answer

We have an online database of the Omaha World-Herald that dates back to the late 1800s, however it does not include the want ads and is restricted to use by Omaha Public Library cardholders. The good news is that we have microfilm of the Omaha World Heraldfrom that period. If you have an exact date we could look it up and send it to you. Without an exact citation, our research policy would apply ($20 for half an hour of research).  You might also check whether your local library has access to GenealogyBank--the Omaha World Herald may be one of the digitized newspapers to which it provides access.

Let me know if you have more precise information about the want ad you are looking for.
