Hello OPL: When I submit a suggestion for purchase, I seem to find out well after it enters the catalog that it is there and then find myself a long way down the hold list... Is there a way to automate a "hold" when someone suggests a book purchase suggestion that you accept? Many thanks! Stuart

Answer

Dear Stuart,

Unfortunately not! This is a functionality that many of us would love, but for now at least there is no automated "placeholder" mechanism to keep track of hold requests for items that are not yet ordered (and to complicate further, sometimes more than one person suggests purchasing the same item). You do receive feedback in the "Suggest a Purchase" section of your account, where you will be told if the item will be purchased.  But admittedly it is very difficult to remember to keep checking the catalog in the following days and weeks....Sorry to offer nothing more than sympathy!

Best wishes,
