The history of children's games is very interesting!   Pom-Pom Pull-Away or Pump Pump Pull-a-way  oringinated in England  and is more commonly called Wall-to-Wall and has been played since the early 1700's.  This information came from a book titled  Street Games by Alan Milberg, 1976.   OPL does not have a copy but it is available through Inter Library Loan.

Other books with the history of games include:

Games and sports the world around/   Sarah Ethridge Hunt

Games /  Godfrey Hall. 1995
