I placed a hold on a book but it didn't ask me what library I want to pick it up at--It always has before.
Thanks for asking! I checked the staff side of our catalog based on your email address; your hold went through just fine, to be picked up at Sorensen (in fact, I pulled it from the shelf and will send it on its way to Sorensen for you.)
I believe what happened is that, accidentally or through a system error, the "Single-Click Hold" option was activated on your account. Our catalog vendor offers it as a time-saver for people who always pick up their items at the same location. I'll add a screenshot of a check-box that appears when you place your hold... it's not hard to turn on with an unintentional click:
When a user has the Single-Click Holds feature enabled, the system automatically assigns the hold to be picked up at the library identifed as their "home library" or "preferred pickup location."
If you prefer to be able to choose your pickup location each time, look for the "My Account" button at the top right corner of any page of our website or catalog. Go to "My Settings", and sign in with your library card if it asks you to. Scroll down until you see Account Preferences: Holds and Pickup Location. You may see text that says:
