Thanks for asking! The La Vista Library is not connected to the Omaha Public Library. Our members do not have privileges at the La Vista Library, and vice versa.

In general terms our services cover all of Douglas County but end at the county line unless by certain mutual arrangements with other libraries and institutions that also benefit our users - the Ralston Library, Lincoln City Libraries, Metro Community College, Millard Public Schools, etc. We have no such arrangement with any of the municipal libraries in Sarpy County.

(Speaking of MCC, you may *very* occasionally see items pop up in our library catalog that belong to a Metro Community College campus library in La Vista. This will sometimes prompt folks to ask if we have a connection to La Vista, but it's just the MCC library.)

Of course, you can contact the La Vista Library directly - they may offer non-resident memberships for a fee, just as we do for folks who live outside of our tax supported service area. And if there's a specific item owned by the La Vista library that you're interested in borrowing, we can absolutely seek it for you through inter-library loan for just the cost of return postage!

Please feel free to give us a call at 402-444-4800 if you have additional questions, and thanks for using AskOPL!
