I have checked out my first kindle book. Is there a process for returning it or does it just go away

Thanks for asking! There's nothing you need to do to return the book - at the end of the checkout period the license for the book automatically expires, is "returned" from your library card and will lock out and eventually disappear from your Kindle. It's one of the great advantages of ebooks and e-audiobooks that they can never be overdue.

If you finish a book early and want to return it, you can do so by going to Amazon.com, signing in to your Amazon account, and looking in the menu for "Manage My Content And Devices..." This will take you to a page where you can return the title early to free up space on your library account and remove other items from your Kindle.

If you have any trouble or any questions, don't hesitate to give us a call at 402-444-4800. Thanks for using AskOPL!
