Gentlemen I'm researching a 1941 article in the Omaha World Herald. Do do out-of-state inter library loans of your microfiche holdings?

The article in question was written by a Frank C. Hamlin concerning his escape from the sunken USS Oklahoma

I am afraid we are not able to lend our microfilm, since we do not have extra copies of it. We do have the historic Omaha World Herald as a searchable digital database.  Searching with the information you provided did not bring up the article. Do you have the exact date of the article? Without an exact citation, our research policy would apply ($20 for half an hour of research--unfortunately our website is currently down so I can't send you the link!).  You might also check whether your local library has access to GenealogyBank--the Omaha World Herald is one of the digitized newspapers to which it provides access.

Let me know if you have more precise information about the article you are looking for.

Best wishes,

Martha/Main Library
