how do I search by author
If it is an article you are looking for, you would need to search for it in an article database such as MasterFile or Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection (accessed from our website under http://www.omahalibrary.org/resource-center). In such databases, go to "advanced search"--there the search field has a drop-down menu where you can select "author," just like in our online book-and-media catalog.
However, I am not finding this article in either of those databases, and, in fact, even just googling it I am not finding an exactly matching citation. J.W. Getzels was coauthor of a frequently-cited 1962 book entitled Creativity and intelligence: Explorations with gifted students, but I can't seem to find the article you mention. Do you have any more details about it? What journal it was published in, and when? If it is not available in any of our databases (which seems likely), we might be able to obtain a copy via interlibrary loan.
You could look at JSTOR, a database that many or most universities have access to--Omaha Public Library does not subscribe to it (since we are not an academic library), but even without a subscription you can generate a list of articles by Getzels. If we have an exact citation, we can figure out how to get it for you!
